Second…
wouldn’t it be great if we knew for sure that a left hand turn would take us right to Success?
Even if there were detours, distractions, flat tires and break downs – at least we would have some reassurance that we were headed in the right direction.
But the road to success is not so easy. I love the way it’s described in this quote sent by Mark Young, owner of Baby Boomer Talk Online:
The road to success is not straight. There is a curve called Failure, a loop called Confusion, speed bumps called Friends, red lights called Enemies, caution lights called Family. You will have flats called Jobs. But, if you have a spare called Determination, an engine called Perseverance, insurance called Faith, you will make it to a place called Success. from an anonymous Baby Boomer
Anyone who can muster up and maintain the determination, perseverance and faith needed to keep moving through all the curves, loops, lights, flats and bumps deserves to be proud.
But here’s a word of caution. Sometimes we keep going without a defined destination. So even if there were a sign telling us to take a left, we wouldn’t know to take it.
So – please. If it matters where you end up and when, pull over. Confirm your destination and desired arrival time. Determine the best route. Review it with your travel companions. Check the tires, the fluids and the dashboard indicators. Eat good energy food. Do some stretches and jumping jacks. Then head out. Leading your re-focused, re-energized team to that “place called Success”.
We offer lots of free resources to help you and your team re- clarify, re-focus and re-commit to goals. A few are listed below. They are designed to help you achieve better balance, control and confidence so that you can provide better leadership and get better bottom line results.
If you need help with implementation or don’t have time to do it yourself, let me know. I’d love to hear about your goals and discuss ways we can help you and your team achieve them.
Sincerely,
Jan Bolick Coach, Author, Speaker Business Class Inc Morale, Productivity & Bottom Line Building Resources for Managers www.businessclassinc.com
