THANK YOU to Kathleen, a long time Quote of the Week subscriber from Alabama, for sending in this week’s quote.
We are posting it on September 15, which according to our Celebration Calendar is Thank You Day.
If we limit Thank You’s to Thank You Day, the words will definitely be underused.
Perhaps we should make every day Thank You Day.
“Thanks for all you do” is good. Sincere and specific makes thank you’s more meaningful.
- Thank you for making it here in all this rain.
- Thank you for your positive approach to that tough situation today.
- Thank you for getting this report to me on time.
- Thank you for making Cathy Client happy today.
Deliberate delivery and eye contact add power. Handwritten adds a special touch.
A note for those on the receiving end: So often we hear these things and respond with a quick “It was nothing” or “I was happy to do it” and then fly off to the next thing. What if we stopped and let the “thank you” soak into our soul. Really let it sink in what we did and how we helped that person. Think how powerful that would be for us as individuals and for all who work around us.
Speaking of that, I’d like to THANK YOU for visiting Business Class and putting these materials to work. Doing so demonstrates your dedication to the tough work of becoming a better manager/leader; building a stronger team and positive work environment. Just think of the power that has for all who work and live around you. And all who work and live around them. And them. And them.
