Working hard and seeing no results?

Are you or your teammates working hard and seeing no results?

Are you or your teammates trying this…then that, hoping to hit on something… ANYTHING that will work?

Whether it’s networking, building a business, completing a big project, making a big goal, training for a marathon, boosting morale or changing a culture…it’s important to remember the ocean.

The force of the waves is their perseverance.

Wherever we want to go, whatever results we want, we must choose actions that we believe will get us there and then do them over and over again.

Not a lot of things, but just a few.

Several good examples of this were shared by participants of a recent Small Business Roundtable meeting.

  • Choose one or two groups or methods of networking rather than spreading yourself too thin.
  • Tell the same story (marketing message) every time.
  • Put all of your to do’s in ONE place (like Google calendar)
  • Have a daily goal(based on your conversion rate) of how many people you need to call, meet, speak with, present to, etc.  And do this every day.
  • Work on personal/professional development every day.

It’s important to decide what these things will be and then commit to doing them – at least for a period of time.  Then do them consistently.  Confidently.  Over and over.

Watching and measuring what we can, like high tides, low tides, currents and things that wash up on the beach; making small implementation changes accordingly; and yet sticking with our plan for a pre-determined period of time, to allow for changes that occur slowly, gradually.  Right before our eyes.

Speaking of personal and professional development, boosting morale and changing a culture… I encourage you to post this week’s quote.  Post the one we send next week.  And the week after.  It’s a simple,  positive action.  Keep doing it over and over and I will be surprised if you don’t see results you love.

  1. Thank you Jan for your inspiring quotes and encouragement. I have to agree with you when you said:

“It’s important to decide ……..and then commit to doing them – at least for a period of time. Then doing them consistently. Confidently. Over and over.

I realize that beginning with the end in mind and sticking to my plan during the high tides and low tides confidently- over and over again really works. Going forward, I will continue to begin with the end in mind and allow no one or nothing to deter me from achieving my goal.
