Quote of the Week for Confucius Day

In celebration of Confucius Day (September 29), our Leadership Quote of the Week is:

It is better to light a small candle than to curse the darkness.

A nice reminder that it is better to take action about whatever is troubling us than to simply complain about it.

Though I must say it helps sometimes to complain a bit, to vent, to dump all the dark negative thoughts and concerns somewhere;  before trying to light, or even locate, that candle.

Making it easier to shed new light on the subject.

Making it easier to take positive action.

Post this week’s quote on the walls. Post on your computer (see instructions below). Post it everywhere as a reminder of how to handle dark times and situations.  A terrific strategy for boosting morale, productivity and overall performance.

Oh yes – and if you haven’t already done so, sign up here for a Monday morning BOOST for you and your team – the Leadership Quote of the Week delivered to your email box each Monday morning.

You can post the above quote to your computer screen with just three clicks.

Notes:

1.  I have seen Confucius Day listed as September 27, 28 and 29.  I have also seen it listed as a celebration of his birthday.  Though I’ve also seen his birthday sited as October 18.  So – whether we are celebrating his birthday or not, sometime this week is a good time to celebrate his wisdom.

2.  From Wikipedia:  “Confucius (551–479 BCE)[1] was a Chinese teacher, editor, politician, and philosopher.”  Read more.
