10 Next Steps that Take 5 Minutes or Less

This week’s Quick List* is a companion piece to our Quote of the Week:  Fight Procrastination, which was selected in celebration of Fight Procrastination Day.

What's the next step?

Determining the NEXT STEP for every project on your list is a power punch in the fight against procrastination.

And it will boost morale and productivity for you and all on your team.

Don’t have time to take the NEXT STEP?

Make it small…just t0 “get the ball rolling.” Just to feel a hint of progress. A bit of achievement. A sense of success.

Here are 10 steps that can be done in 5 minutes or less.

1. Pull the project file.

2. No file yet? create one whether it’s paper, outlook, whatever.

3. Do a web search on the topic.

4. Make a quick list of possible next steps.  See handy tools for this in  10 Tips for Putting Off Procrastination.

5. Call a colleague to review list of next steps.

6. On list in #4, make notes of who can do next steps.

7. Send an email.

8. Make a phone call.

9. Set date for a meeting.

10. Determine your next step.

Got any to add?

Whatever step you take, congratulate yourself for it….and then do #10. Deciding the next step will make it so much easier to take.
