This week’s selection was harder than usual.
Usually, after thinking through issues that current clients are dealing with, then taking a look at the celebrations calendar, one quote shines as an obvious choice. But this week , the process left me with a long list of relevant possibilities.
The list rotated through my mind as my son and I sorted through his belongings – packing up and moving for the ninth time in four years. We hauled out bags of trash. We loaded boxes of items to give away. One item he was insistent about taking with him to his first post-college apartment is this sign which has hung on his wall for the past three years. He said, “I HAVE to take this!”
That was it! A message from the universe.
It was time to trash the other quotes on the list. Or at least box them up and “give” them to another week. And keep “Keep It Simple” as this week’s featured quote – but in a more colorful version made possible by iPad’s Photo Booth.
And guess what? The first week in August is Simplify Your Life Week.
- What can you do to simplify your life?
- What can you throw away?
- What can you give away?
Simplify your life, simplify life for team members, and you’ll boost morale, productivity and overall performance.
See tomorrow’s 10 by 10 on Tuesday for ideas on how to simplify.
Meanwhile, share this week’s quote at a staff meeting and then post it on the wall as a reminder to Keep It Simple.
Oh yes – and if you haven’t already done so, sign up here for a Monday morning BOOST for you and your team – the Leadership Quote of the Week delivered to your email box each Monday morning.
You can post the above quote to your computer screen with just three clicks.
