Happy Appreciate a Dragon Day

Happy Appreciate a Dragon Day.

If you don’t know any actual dragons to appreciate, perhaps you could recognize people who recently slayed a dragon.

“Slaying a dragon” to mean overcoming a huge, scary obstacle, or making a big, overwhelming goal,  or making a big sale, etc.

How to recognize dragon slayers?

  • Make it a staff meeting agenda item.  Announce that it’s Appreciate a Dragon Day.  And ask the group to help you make a list of all the dragons the team has slayed this year.
  • Print out this page, write a congratulatory note to someone about what she did to deserve the award.
  • Or go pick up the adorable Beanie Baby (TM) dragon.  Still less than $10.    Buy one of these and award at your next staff meeting.  Be sure to tell all the gory details about how scary and challenging it was to slay this dragon. Let it pass to a new person each month. By the way – you don’t have to be the one in charge of selection in future months. Let the winner this month be the one to select and pass it on next month.
