At the end of this week, we’ll be halfway through 2011. Here are 10 important things to do mid-year. For your business. For your team. For yourself.
It may be the most valuable time you spend all year. Saving you time, energy, the cost of error and duplicated efforts. Great for productivity, morale and performance – including bottom line performance.
- Review mission, vision and goals for 2011.
- Celebrate success to date.
- Review problems, mistakes and solutions to date.
- Review goals for rest of year.
- Review plan for achieving goals for rest of year.
- Review responsiblities for each element of the plan.
- Identify potential obstacles.
- Discuss ways to avoid, prevent or circumvent each obstacle.
- Discuss training, coaching and support needed for team member including you.
- Thank everyone for their commitment, enthusiasm and hard work.
Depending on the size of your team and the complexity of the issues, this can be done in a staff meeting, in a series of meetings or in a day or multi-day retreat.
We also recommend that the schedule allows for something fun and active. Something different from the group’s normal activities. Here’s a starter list: 10 Fun Team Activities.
We’d be glad to help you organize and facilitate a program helps you finish strong in 2011. Contact us to discuss the possibilities.
