June 3 is National Doughnut Day*.
- Set up a table at the front of the store piled high with boxes of doughnuts and a huge sign that says “Celebrate National Doughnut Day!”
- Offer something special if you can – like buy a dozen, get one free.
- Tweet about it.
- Put it on your Facebook page.
- Announce it to your e-mail subscriber list.
Most of all – have fun with this once-a-year way to celebrate with staff, colleagues, clients and customers. The investment is small. The payoff may be priceless.
* Of Interest: “National Doughnut Day started in 1938 as a fund raiser for the Chicago Salvation Army. Their goal was to help the needy during the Great Depression, and to honor the Salvation Army “Lassies” of World War I who served doughnuts to soldiers.” from Wikipedia.
