10 April-Only Marketing Ideas

Just a reminder about these April occasions.   Some may boost revenue in only a bit.  But all have possible side benefits:  a boost to morale and productivity.

  1. Gardening Month
  2. Stress Awareness Month
  3. Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwich Month 
  4. National Grilled Cheese Sandwich Month
  5. Earth Day is April 22
  6. National Jelly Bean Day is April 22
  7. National Soft Pretzel Month 
  8. National Poetry Month
  9. Arbor Day – date varies from state to state – many are in April

If you sell any of these or related products, don’t miss the opportunity to celebrate. 

How?

  1. If you have any advertising money, run ads inviting people in to celebrate with you.
  2. Display simple point of purchase posters that say it’s : National Car Care Month or Gardening Month or Poetry Month or whatever.
  3. On these ads or  posters, offer a special deal if you can.  Like a free car check.  See this video.  Or feature an item  like buy one grilled cheese sandwich,  get one free.
  4. Tweet about whatever you your celebration and special offer if there is one.
  5. Put it on your Facebook page.
  6. Announce it to your e-mail subscriber list.
  7. If you are poetic, write your announcement as a poem in celebration of National Poetry Month.

If you don’t sell any of these items, you can still celebrate.

How?

  1. Put small packages of  jelly beans out in the lobby with a sign that says Happy National Jelly Bean Day.
  2. Offer soft pretzels to customers.  Be sure to tell them it’s in celebration of National Soft Pretzel Day.
  3. Offer peanut butter and jelly sandwiches to your customers.  Be sure to tell them why.
  4. Give branded promotional products to your customers.  For example – tires gauges in celebration of National Car Care Month,  a package of seeds in celebration of National Gardening Month,  an umbrella to prepare for April Showers.
  5. In celebration of Stress Awareness Month, offer neck and shoulder massages for customers while they wait.

If you sell advertising…

 be sure you have contacted every one of your clients about your ideas for April celebrations.
