Remember two weeks ago when I told you about a great price for a great prize? It was 1/2 price on a NASCAR Racing Experience Package, a great prize to offer to the person who brings in the most sales next week. Or accounts receivable. Or the person who tweets the most. Or whatever activity will get you and them closer to goal!
694 people took advantage of that $167 offer.
Now if you missed it or if your budget didn’t allow for it, don’t fret. There is a new deal every day. Not all of them would be suitable for use as an office prize, but many of them would be – like a spa package for $60, a zipline adventure for $40 and a house cleaning package for $29. The best way to stay up to date on these one day deals is to have them delivered to your email box. If you haven’t signed up yet, I encourage you to do that. Sign up here and then watch for daily deals to purchase for yourself, as gifts, as prizes, as morale and productivity boosters – and depending on how you use them – to get boosts in sales.
There could be an even bigger boost in sales in a single day if you want to be one of the businesses featured in a daily deal. Take a look at these numbers from four daily deals that were offered in the Raleigh/Durham, NC market.
Look at the far right column for an estimate of net revenue for each of the businesses. I have no way of knowing the associated net earnings, but from what I’ve read on the Living Social website, there was no upfront cost for the businesses; the customers paid upfront to get the deal; and the businesses received their share in about 10 days.
In these days of shrinking advertising budgets and slow pokey sales, this seems like a great program. As long as the margins work, it seems to me that the only risk is getting more work than the business can handle well. And that is certainly a valid concern. A big boost in a single day is great. But bigger opportunity – and reward – will come from making the purchasers of your one day deal into longtime customers. Let me know if you need help with that part.
Living Social* offers daily deals in 90 different metropolitan areas in the United States and Canada; plus 4 in Europe. I hope you are close to one of these so that you can try it out. You might want to start out by getting the daily deal to see how it works. And then when and if you want to find out more about getting a big sales boost in a single day, scroll down to the bottom of one of the deals and click on “Businesses”.
I don’t know very much about these, but other companies that offer similar services are:
Let me know if you try any of these! I’d love to hear about your experience with it!
P.S. Another good prize deal is being offered today. For bowling! There is no time to spare. Strike now before this deal goes to the gutter!
