“There’s NO way!”
That’s what we heard Wilma say as she stood at the bottom of that uncountable number of steps to be climbed. And all in those high heels.
She has been standing there for quite some time now.
Is she frozen with fright?
Or indecision?
Maybe she doesn’t know how?
Everyone is talking about how she is procrastinating.
Whatever it is, she feels bad about herself – morale and productivity at rock bottom.
How can her manager or leader help?
What about sharing our Quote of the Week with her as a reminder that even the journey of 1000 miles begins with a single step?
How about posting it around the office? Other people on the team could probably benefit as well.
And for a bit of educational comic relief, how about showing our Movie of the Week, which is a quick clip from What about Bob?
In case you aren’t familiar with it… Bob (played by Bill Murray) is an obsessive compulsive who is trying to deal with divorce (and other issues). Dr. Martin ( played by Richard Dreyfuss) is his psychiatrist. You can read these details from Wikipedia if you’d like.
Grab the popcorn and watch this 1 1/2 minute clip from What about Bob?
Now – what about Wilma?
What baby step could she take to get started on that long climb?
It might help for her manager to brainstorm that with her. Here’s a list of ideas: 10 steps to take in 5 minutes or less.
If she needs some encouragement, share these links with her:
Now – enough about Bob and Wilma.
What about you?
On each of the the big projects you have ahead of you, what single step can you take?
We’ll be cheering for you.
And of course we would be glad to help you along the way if you’d like.
We have coaching programs ready when you are.
