10 Most Important Things To Do Today

10 by 10

This  Quick List* is a companion piece to our Quote of the Week: On doing too much.

It’s a list that will boost  morale and productivity for you and your team.

What goes on it?

Your answers to these questions.

Given your desired outcomes for the day, the week, the month, the year – what are the MOST important things for you to do TODAY

  1. What are the top 3 things to do for yourself so that you are your best – physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually?
  2. What are the top 3 things to do at work – high impact items that will help you make your goals?
  3. What are the top 3 things to do at home?

Yes – I know you have more than 3 things to do in each of these areas.  And I don’t suggest that you dump your other task lists.

It’s just that for most of us, our task lists are so LONNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGG that we often look for ways to escape.  Or in a courageous moment, we might take a run at it.    Then get discouraged or exhausted.     Just like our Quote of the Week said:

If we narrow to 3 things…even if they are big things…we can remember all 3.

 We can focus on 3.

3 seems very doable.

Put them on your task list in whatever device you use.  Or write them on an index card…easy to tuck into your shirt pocket.  Or use one of our handy lists.  See Sample and blank forms ready to download below.

And for those in your lead…want to do something to boost morale and productivity?  Then share this tool with them.  Be sure they know the top 3 things that will help them make their goals at work.  Help them with this and you are likely to be their hero.

P.S.  There are so many possibilities that narrowing to 3 is usually not easy.    This is an area in which a coach can be very valuable.  Don’t have one?    Contact us about  our management coaching programs.
