Wednesday is Fudge Day

fudgeNational Fudge Day is on Wednesday, June 16.

Take this opportunity to have a little fun, relieve stress, break tension, say thank you – and in doing so, you boost morale and productivity.

But BEWARE!!!  The foundation of good morale and productivity is hiring the right people.  Yes – don’t hire grumps.  And the people must have clear roles, responsibities, expectations and goals.  And they must receive training and coaching which includes feedback, direction, support and recognition from a trusted manager or coach.

So don’t expect to throw a bit of fudge out and expect instant morale.   The fudge is more like icing on a cake.

Here are a few simple ideas for celebrating National Fudge Day:

with your staff:

1. Bring a tray of fudge or fudge brownies to the staff meeting. Explain that you brought it in celebration of National Fudge Day.
2. Put fudge or fudge brownies on a silver tray. Put on an apron. Carry the tray and cocktail napkins around the office (to each person’s desk) and offer fudge in celebration of National Fudge Day.

with your customers.

1. Serve fudge on a tray in the lobby for walk in visitors.
2. Deliver a tray or container of fudge to clients.
3. If you are in the food business, feature fudge-y items (for a special price if desired) on the menu. Promote in the window, on message boards, on your website.
4. If you sell advertising and have clients in the food business, be sure to suggest that they promote Fudge Day!

Enjoy!
