Movie of the Week – UP

To keep morale and productivity at its peak, a combination of movement is needed. Some backward for reflection and learning from the past. Some standing still for rest and recovery. But not too much. It’s important to Monitor & Move Forward or we’ll end up with stagnant, dead and rotten stuff. Yuck.

When we get it just right – the reward is feeling UP!   Ready and raring to go! And when our team is with us on that – WOW!

Speaking of “UP”, that’s our Movie of the Week. As adults, we tend to think animated movies are for the young. But, this is a must-see for anyone who wants to move forward (or up!).

In the movie, Carl and his wife plan to go on an adventure, but “life” gets in their way and she dies before they fulfill the dream.  He stands still and moves backward through all the memories and dreams they shared.  You’ll see some of that in this 2-minute clip.

Go get the popcorn, grab a box of tissues and gather everyone around.  Watch this clip and then come back because guess what?!  There’s a bonus film!  Yep – another double feature this week!

So sad.  But it was just the reflection time he needed.  And what a sweetheart of a wife he had! She gave him just the nudge he needed to move forward with his life and quest for adventure.

We encourage you to watch the rest of the movie – with or without your team- so that you can enjoy his UPlifting and  life changing experience.

But we don’t want to leave you on a sad note, which is why we  included feature #2.  It’s another 2-minute clip.

What fun!  Lots of forward movement.  Lots of challenges and frustrations.  But those feel so different when they are part of an adventure instead of same ol’ same ol’  drudgery.  And when we push through and get to the other side of all of that —- WOW!!!

Questions for Thought or Group Discussion

1.  What goals and dreams do you have for your business or professional life that you haven’t yet started?    Important:  Don’t let yourself go backwards, i.e. beating yourself up for not doing these things.  Instead, re-visit our Quote of the Week on moving forward.

2.  What can you do today to move forward with your goals and dreams?   If you’d like help with this, see  10 blocks to moving forward.  It includes tips on how to get over, around and/or through   these common  blocks.

3.  What could you do to nudge each other along?

4.  If any part of your business  feels  like drudgery, what could you do to turn it into an adventure instead for you and your team?  If you need help with this, come back next week for all sorts of ideas about making business more of an adventure.

Final Note:  We encourage you to re-visit these questions for your personal life.
