If you want to be a better manager, pay attention to these hints from Santa, as observed by Janta, Santa’s sister.
- He has a vision – to bring joy and happiness to children all over the world.
- He shares his vision enthusiastically – as evidenced by frequent HOHOHO’s.
- His overall goal and expectations are clear – to deliver toys to all children before daybreak on December 25.
- His expectations are high – as evidenced by #3.
- He breaks big goals into smaller ones – working with his elves throughout the year to produce all the toys.
- He is an excellent time manager – producing millions of toys and delivering them all in one night.
- He is a great role model. He takes the vision and the goals very seriously – often incurring great risks, like flying through the sky and sliding down chimneys, to make them happen.
- He selects great helpers and puts their unique talents to work. Perfect example – Rudolph with his nose so bright.
- He is a master at building strong teams who can do amazing things – like his reindeer team who flies through the sky.
- He is a master delegator. Just look at his elves and what they produce.
- He makes people, elves and reindeer feel very special.
- He knows if you’ve been good or not – and rewards accordingly.
- He gets and stays behind his reindeer.
- He does a great job AND has a great time doing it!
Whether you believe in Santa or not – there is much to learn from how he leads the way.
Happy Holidays!
