Kudos to Mack Brown on Boss Day

In celebration of Boss Day, here’s a story about Mack Brown (former head football coach at UNC-Chapel Hill, now head coach at University of Texas) shared by Rick Steinbacher during a Business Class interview.

Rick (now Associate Athletic Director at UNC) was on Carolina’s football team when Mack Brown was coach.

Rick said that Mack was a great leader, who did a great job of sharing a vision.  He was positive about everything.  He referred to them as a top 10 team.  Even though they were on actually on the other end of that scale, he said it was important for them to ACT like they were a top 10 team.  And by the time Rick graduated, Carolina WAS a top 10 team.

The power of vision and positive expectations.
