A Time/CNN poll found that 65% of people spend their leisure time doing things they would prefer not to do.
Do you find that sad? Or maddening?
Let’s face it…we all have some things we would prefer not to do. Laundry and litter boxes come to mind.
But wouldn’t it be nice if we were spending MOST of our leisure time doing things we really want to do?
The first step is to think about it.
What do you really want to do?
Paint? Tae Kwon Do? Play the sax? Yoga? Eat lunch with your child at school?
Make a list of all those things you wish you had time to do?
Now choose just one thing and work it in to your calendar this week-even if it’s just for 10 minutes. Write it on your calendar…just like you would a meeting with your boss.
Now just do it.
You will feel terrific. Energized. Powerful.
So powerful, you will want to do even more next week.
In future weeks, keep adding things in so that your leisure time becomes more what you want it to be. An interesting by product is that you will become more powerful at work as well.
